It’s visceral, raw, noisy, offensive, simple, catchy, kids love it and older people hate it (yup, pretty much all the boxes checked there except maybe political/social thematic concerns). And Smokepurpp is probably one of the best practitioners of a particularly raw and grimy strain of turn up, trap. With an assist for Canada’s Murda Beatz (producer for French Montana, Gucci Mane etc.), he’s dropped a worthy follow-up to his debut album, Deadstar with the just released (a couple weeks ago) Bless Yo Trap.

Now he’s back with, yes, Kendrick vocals blended over Dre beats on this a 23 track blend tape featuring Kendrick Lamar lyricism blended over Dr. Dre iconic, legendary beats. P+P premiered it and the buzz has spread quickly ever since.
