Something a little different via the homie from the A, Ian Burke:
“Now you know I’m always trying to bring y’all the “New New” so check out this new artist I was introduced to via Naz Tokio…J.Kap with a video co-directed by my new friend Jeff “RITE” Schulman. As always please give me your thoughts.”
Keys N Krates‘ is a Toronto-based three-piece formed by DJ Jr Flo (of the Eh Team DJ’s) on turntables, Matisse on keys and Adam Tune on drums who pioneered the concept of real-time, live remixing of original tracks and ‘cultural anthems’ using turntables, samplers and musical instruments. They just released their their new mixtape, Almost 39 Minutes in follow-up to last year’s Live Re-Mixing 101 project.
Almost 39 Minutes is a continuous mix of classic hits from Aaliyah to Michael Jackson merged with new beats and musical influences from Drake to James Brown. Check it:

New mixtape project produced by DJ Benzi and Diplo for Pharrell & Shae (N*E*R*D)’s new group, Mansions On The Moon. This is hot, check it out if you haven’t already since it dropped last week and read the official plug below:
“Mansions on the Moon’s mixtape, ‘Paradise Falls’, is now finally available for free download. The Echo Park trio formed a little over a year ago and they have since collaborated with N*E*R*D, Diplo, Benzi & Willy Joy and Xaphoon Jones (Chiddy Bang).
Their debut mixtape ‘Paradise Falls’, presented by Diplo and DJ Benzi illustrates the wide range of Mansions on the Moon’s capabilities. The fusion of Mansions’ electro indie pop into a trip-hop flavored mixtape shows this band has huge things on the horizon. Keep an eye out for their debut original album and tour dates in the early part of 2011.”

Amy Winehouse has still got it even after everything she’s gone through but I kind of hate this song (originally recorded by Leslie Gore back in the day). I think this new track, produced by Mark Ronson, is from some Quincy Jones (tribute?) compilation that I’ve started to hear rumblings about. There’s a record sampling the Sanford and Son TV show theme featuring T.I. or something (??) also floating around.
