I missed this one from August:
“Take ride with the DJ L’oqenz inside the head of Saidah Baba Talibah! Hear what moves and inspires this soulful, funk, rock artist featuring tracks from Janelle Monae, Chaka Khan, Raphael Saadiq, N.E.R.D., Aloe Blacc and more, as well as two tracks from Saidah’s Phone Demos EP”
Hit the jump for the back cover and track listing and for the download link. (more…)
The number of great soul singers in the T.dot just keeps multiplying!
Here’s another one doing the city proud. I actually thought the first single off this collection, “Voodoo” (track #2) was cool but a little too much of a Janelle Monae knock-off but there’s a couple other real gems on this joint. Tell me track #3, “She” and track #5, “Raindrops” aren’t both AMAZING songs!!!
Presented by Those Girls Are Wild and the kid, D-dot Omen.
Directed by Warwick Saint. I’ve supported this artist in the past on the old Kitchen. She’s managed by the same dude who also manages Saidah Baba Talibah but while Saidah is a connoisseur’s thing for people who really appreciate good-quality, ‘real’ music Trish could a real contender on the Top 40 charts for the dollars & hearts of those who are out there buying Rihanna and Lady Gaga records right now (maybe…). Agree or not?

Speaking of RZA here he is again featured on a new track from Kitchen faves, The Kickdrums:
Holy smokes, I have to say: that artwork is horrible! Decent song though. And hit the jump for a really cool bonus cut by Alex of The Kickdrums with Kolt 13 out of France.
