Big fan of Birthday Boy, mostly due to his work with fellow Toronto artist, Allie and his growing buzz in The 6ix. “Magic”‘s been on our new FRESH PICKS spotify playlist since it’s release but the sheer volume of music coming out and the year-end rush of the holidays means this one fell though the cracks as far as a post on the blog went. New single from Justin Timberlake! Musically this puts us in the mindset of what Queen/Freddie Mercury might sound like if they did a record with Skrillex, maybe with a very Pharrell-ish vibe in the vocals on the anthemic parts. The vocals sound a little tinny on initial plays to our ears, but this track, produced by Timberlake, Timbaland & Danja, might could be a grower and go like “Sexy Back” was when it came out. Agree?
