If you live in the T.Dot/GTA region and you have at all dug what they do, then you need to be at their performance tonight at the Third Anniversary celebration for the local urban progressive artist collective, 88 Days of Fortune. If you’re a hip-hop head who lives in the T.dot/GTA and didn’t know about this, I feel sorry for you. Ghostface, Raekwon, Killer Mike, Action Bronson and local artists Tre Mission and Tasha the Amazon all for FREE at Yonge-Dundas Square this afternoon/evening.
You still have time to make it though as performances don’t start until 4PM this afternoon. Let me just say, I saw Killer Mike last night at Wrongbar and he smashed it to the point that I want to see him again this evening. Catch you down there? [Event] The Hill & The Sky Heroes – 11:11 CD Release Party is TONIGHT (June 11) at The Drake Underground in Toronto
CLICK HERE for more details. Why should you care about this? Band leader, Hill Kourkoutis is part of The Weeknd‘s live band that tore it down in his debut show at The Mod Club in Toronto. And yes the CD, whose release is being celebrated this evening does have the exact same name as a spoken word EP by AfraKaRen I posted a few months back here at The Kitchen for you more eagle-eyed readers. Weird….

[Videos] Stylus DJ Awards – Cityonmyback Cyphers
I know I’m a little late posting these but no matter, I know most of y’all from outside the Dot ain’t seen these yet (or if you have, good on you!). These were some cyphers put together and shot for the Stylus DJ Awards, the biggest and best known ‘urban’ music award show in Canada that celebrates all aspects of DJ culture from mixtapes and mixshows spanning the top DJ-related genres from hip hop, house and R&B to dubstep, electro and techno. These are some of the best up-and-coming MCs and rappers in Canada. Drop a note to let us know what you think of them, aight?
