New blues-rock heat rock from Toronto’s Saidah Baba Talibah under her new project name, SATE. Saw her tear it up at their debut show a few weeks back at the Dakota Tavern on the Ossington strip in downtown Toronto. She is back there with the rest of SATE for the second in a month long series of residency shows for the month of April this Sunday presented by Howl Growl Moan. CLICK HERE for details.

Jeremih is a cult R&B artist who deserves to be bigger than just his sole (?) “Birthday Cake” mainstream hit and (currently) being feted primarily in hipster PBR&B circles. This banger of a track with current biggest rapper in the world, J. Cole may help rectify that situation.
This is so cool (although I kind of wish someone like Questlove or Mark Ronson would have been given a shot to produce this). Fifteen years after Pops Staples, patriarch of the iconic Staple Singers died, daughter Mavis Staples has teamed up with her collaborative partner Jeff Tweedy (producer of her albums, You Are Not Alone and One True Vine) to finish the recordings of his final tracks that he made in 1999. The tracks will be released as Don’t Lose This on February 17 via Wilco‘s dBpm imprint and Anti-.
