More Hypemachine blog bait. I’m semi on Tdot indie-hiphop beatsmith, Ryan Hemsworth (just started checking out his Guilt Trips album last week tbh) and Nashville blog darling MC, Starlito but this seemed noteworthy, no?? Hit the jump also for Hemsworth & Starlito‘s “Marley Lion (Mistakes To Make)” as spotted on Yourstru.ly.

Drake, OVO and James Blake??! I know this is total HypeMachine blog bait but I really actually like this!
I have long been a fan of Smith & Mighty, a Bristol, UK-based production duo that were progenitors of the breakbeat, bass-heavy sound that presaged everything from Massive Attack and Portishead to the UK street soul of Soul II Soul, drum n bass, Shut Up And Dance, broken beat and even, at a stretch, the breakbeat R&B template that uptown DJ, Ron G created on his mixtapes and that Diddy took to the masses with Mary J. Blige and his Bad Boy label.
When I DJ’d for a living back in the mid-2000’s, I played this Burt Bacharach & Hal David cover regularly back then as well as their cover of another Bacharach & David classic, “Anyone Who Had a Heart” (titled “Anyone”). This is music I will love until I die and the reason why I do this blog still. Y’all dig?
Bonus cut exclusive to the Flume: Deluxe Edition release featuring the ‘Wally Champ’ (aka Ghostface). Not mad at that a;though is this a snippet or juts a really short track?! Needs to be a lot longer if the latter is the case….
Nice cover of the big pop/R&B banger from Drake‘s Nothing Was The Same smash hit album.
