Must confess, I don’t know a ton about this kid, K. Forest from Brampton (a suburb community of Toronto for those not knowing), but his name came up when I was re-touting my feature piece from Nation of Billions about Canadian rappers besides Drake you should get up on. I should have been more aware given the kid’s song, “Guidance” is featured on Travis Scott‘s new album. Time for a new article, perhaps?

New track by FL rapper, Brian Breach featuring #DK11 alum, Mickey Factz.

I was raving on Twitter earlier about how good the new album 1992 by Compton rapper, The Game was. I know people have their issues with him but he’s always been one of our favorites. From the Doggystyle-inspired artwork on in, this love letter to ’92 era LA is super solid. Don’t sleep!

The just-released, new Northen Lights album is great: a nice mix of crossover EDM, dubstep, hip-hop, old school drum n bass, UK grime, au courant indie-electronic pop and more. Nice to see how this Toronto-based duo continues to evolve with their sound and music . Here go two tracks from the album featuring Pusha T, Rivers Cuomo of Weezer and Jadakiss and Styles P of The Lox. Ya dig??

We’re big fans of local Toronto MC, Tona. His last album, Carpe Diem was fantastic and his latest album, The Ivy League which just dropped is just as good, if not better! This track, “Red Eye” the single and video from the new album is straight flames and the thing that surprised me the most, it’s produced by another Kitchen fave, Slakah the Beatchild. Knowing his track record I wasn’t expecting a beat like this one, which is just ridiculous, from him! Don’t sleep, go peep this album. Crazy!
